The Genesis Initiative Limited (‘the Company’) is a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital. The Company through its board determines overall policy as well as funding and specific issues relating to the operation of the Company and Senate. The board also oversees the preparation of the Genesis manifesto.
The Chairman of the Company is Councillor John May FCA. The Chief Executive of the Company is Alan Cleverly OBE.
The Company has a board of directors which meets three times a year.
The Genesis Senate is sponsored by the Company and is the vehicle through which trade associations and other business people can meet to raise and discuss points of current concern, with a view to relating these to policy makers.
Meetings of Senate take place three times each year in the Palace of Westminster and have a regular attendance of between 40 to 50 people. Meetings are usually preceded by a working breakfast or lunch at which ministers and other policy makers speak and members have the opportunity to raise points of interest.
The Chairman of Senate is Garry Carter, Chief Executive of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
